2024 U17 WWCQs: Kanyemba Names 34 for Tanzania Clash

Zambia’s U17 Women’s National Team coach, Carol Kanyemba, has unveiled a provisional squad of 34 members that has convened in Lusaka to commence preparations for the upcoming 2024 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup second-round qualifiers against Tanzania scheduled for next month.

Kanyemba has selected 12 players from the provincial side, which was formed following the national trials involving all 10 provinces. The trials culminated in a match against the All-Stars team at Sunset Stadium on January 6, 2024.

The first leg of the qualifiers will see Zambia hosting Tanzania on February 3, followed by the away fixture a week later. The winner, determined over two legs, will advance to face either Uganda or Cameroon in the third round.

In the fourth round of qualifiers, three African teams will secure berths for the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, set to take place in the Dominican Republic.
