Serie A standout, Lameck Banda, emphasizes the significance of hard work for the Chipolopolo Boys as they prepare for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Speaking upon his arrival in Saudi Arabia on Thursday, the Lecce winger expressed his determination to translate his impressive club performance into national success.

Eager to establish cohesion with his Chipolopolo teammates before the continental showcase, Banda conveyed his enthusiasm about joining the camp.
He highlighted the importance of getting acquainted with fellow players and collectively preparing for the upcoming tournament.

“I am very happy to join the camp. To join the guys is very important for us.
I am looking forward to knowing and working with the other players as we head into the tournament,” he remarked. “The most crucial aspect is putting in the hard work.
What I achieve at the club level, I aim to replicate within the national team.”

Banda underscored the team’s commitment to approaching each game with utmost seriousness, irrespective of the opponent. Whether facing Morocco or any other team, the focus remains on giving their best effort.
“To us, it’s a fair group. Every game is important, and we are always ready to fight,” he asserted.

Addressing the fans, Banda urged their continued support, emphasizing the team’s dedication to the tournament. Zambia is scheduled to play an international friendly against Cameroon on January 9, providing an opportunity for the technical bench to assess the squad’s progress.
The Chipolopolo’s AFCON journey kicks off with a match against Congo on January 17, followed by encounters with Tanzania and the Atlas Lions on January 21 and 24, respectively.
