Chipolopolo Defender Frankie Musonda Confident Zambia Can Excel in AFCON Group Stage

As Chipolopolo intensifies preparations in Saudi Arabia under Avram Grant’s guidance, defender Frankie Musonda expresses confidence in Zambia’s ability to secure victories in all three Group F games at the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast. Musonda, returning from injury, acknowledges the tough opponents in Morocco, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), and Tanzania’s Taifa Stars but believes Zambia has the qualities to compete at the highest level.

In an interview, Musonda stated, “It is an exciting group; there will be tough opponents. Everyone is a good team, and everyone knows what they are doing. These games will be tough. Each game, we all think we can win, so I am very excited, and I just have to concentrate.”

With optimism and determination, Musonda’s return to the squad adds defensive strength as Zambia gears up for their first AFCON appearance in eight years. The opening match against DRC on January 17 is eagerly anticipated, and Musonda’s confidence reflects the team’s collective belief in their ability to make a mark on the continental stage.
