Luton Town Captain Collapses on the Field in Match Against Bournemouth
The Premier League match between Luton and Bournemouth had to be halted when their captain, Tom Lockyer, collapsed on the field.
In the midst of the second half, both teams were led off the pitch to allow for immediate medical attention to Lockyer.
Following several minutes of medical intervention, Lockyer was carefully stretchered off the field, receiving applause from all sides of the stadium.
This unfortunate incident comes after Lockyer’s collapse during the play-off final against Coventry in May, which led to his hospitalization and subsequent heart surgery.
Remarkably, he had been granted medical clearance to resume playing in June.
With the official confirmation of the game’s abandonment, players from both Luton and Bournemouth returned to the field to acknowledge and applaud the supportive fans.
