Zambia Unveils Final Squad for Africa Netball Cup with Young Talent Harriet Muchuma
Lusaka, Zambia – The Zambia Women’s National Netball Team, under the guidance of Coach Lazarus Tembo, has announced its final 14-member squad in preparation for the upcoming Africa Netball Cup scheduled to be held in Gaborone, Botswana, from November 28 to December 6, 2023. Zambia, currently ranked 5th in Africa and 15th globally, is gearing up to compete against top netball teams from the continent.
One of the notable inclusions in the squad is 18-year-old Harriet Muchuma, a promising wing attacker who previously showcased her talent with the under-20 national team. Despite her youth, Muchuma played a pivotal role in Zambia’s success, contributing significantly to the team’s Silver medal win at the 2022 regional five games held in Malawi.
Coach Lazarus Tembo expressed confidence in the selected squad, emphasizing the blend of experienced players and emerging talents. The team is eager to make a strong statement on the continental stage and aims to improve its ranking in both the African and global netball landscape.
