Lameck Banda Demonstrates Fitness for Niger Opportunity
Lameck ‘The Beast’ Banda is set to lead Zambia’s charge in Morocco on Tuesday as the Chipolopolo face Niger in a FIFA 2026 World Cup qualifier.
The 22-year-old was subbed out late in the 4-2 victory over Congo on Friday, appearing to be a precautionary measure.
“Lameck mentioned feeling a bit tired. He did a commendable job, scoring a goal and providing an assist,” stated Zambia coach Avram Grant in a post-match interview with the ZamFoot Crew.
The Lecce forward has maintained a deadly goal-scoring form for both club and country this season. In a recent Seria A match against AC Milan, he scored and contributed an assist in Lecce’s 2-2 draw.
Recognized as a key player in Zambia’s quest to qualify for their first FIFA World Cup, the former Arsenal Tula winger has notched three goals in nine caps for Zambia.
