Zambian Forward Edward Chilufya Wraps Up League Campaign with an Assist
Zambian forward Edward Chilufya concluded his league campaign with BK Hacken, contributing an assist in a 2-1 defeat to Brommapojkarna in a round 30 fixture. The match took place on Sunday, marking the end of the Allsvenskan League season.
Despite Hacken finishing third in the league standings and falling short of defending their title, Chilufya had an impactful season. The Zambian international, who joined Hacken on a one-year loan from Danish side Midtylland in August, made eight league appearances during his return to Sweden. Throughout his stint, he showcased his scoring prowess by netting five goals and providing one assist.
Following the conclusion of the league, Chilufya is now en route to Ndola to fulfill his national team duties as Zambia prepares for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers. The first match is scheduled against Congo Brazzaville this Friday.
In good form with Hacken, Chilufya is eager to replicate his club performance on the international stage. With the Chipolopolo Boys set to face Congo Brazzaville and Niger in the coming week, Chilufya aims to secure his first senior goal for the national team.
Coach Avram Grant emphasizes the importance of early reporting for national team duty, and Chilufya is committed to meeting this requirement as he joins the squad for training ahead of the World Cup qualifiers.
