Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) Dragged To court For Failing to pay Accommodation In Ndola
Michaelangelo Executive Lodge Limited, based in Ndola, has initiated legal action against the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) by suing the Attorney General, who represents the association, in the Ndola High Court.
The lawsuit stems from an outstanding debt of over K200,000 for hospitality services rendered during the 2017 under-20 Africa Cup of Nations.
The lodge claims it provided accommodation and meals to match officials, including referees, at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium at the request of FAZ, which operates under the purview of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
According to the statement of claim filed with the court, the services were provided on February 23, 2017, following a direct request from FAZ.
Subsequently, the lodge issued an invoice to the Ministry of Youth and Sports for the total amount of K252,374, covering the costs of the accommodation and meals supplied to the officials.
The failure to settle this payment has now led to the legal dispute, with the lodge seeking recourse through the judicial system.
