Namibia’s beloved Brave Gladiators have returned home as champions, receiving a heroes’ welcome at Hosea Kutako International Airport this morning after clinching the 2026 COSAFA Women’s Championship title.
The team was greeted by a vibrant reception led by Prime Minister Hon. Elijah Ngurare and Minister Hon. Sanet Steenkamp, who joined ecstatic fans and officials to honor the squad’s historic performance. The air was filled with pride as the nation celebrated its new regional queens.
The Gladiators etched their names into the history books on Saturday afternoon, snapping a 20-year title drought. In a tense and thrilling final at Polokwane’s Peter Mokaba Stadium, they overcame hosts South Africa with a composed 2-1 victory.
