Zambia Captain Kampamba We’ll challenge Morocco

Zambia’s captain, Kelvin Kampamba, has a clear message for his team’s critics: Don’t count us out just yet.

Speaking at a fiery pre-match press conference at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kampamba made it clear that the Chipolopolo are far from finished in the CHAN tournament.

“Yes, Zambia has always made it to the quarter-finals—but this story isn’t over,” he declared. “We’re ready to give Morocco a real battle. It won’t be easy, but they’d be wrong to underestimate us. We’re coming for them.”

With Zambia yet to secure a point in the competition, Kampamba acknowledged the pressure but insisted his squad would rise to the occasion.

“This is our chance to prove ourselves—to show our spirit, our fight,” he said. “We don’t step onto the pitch to lose. Sometimes things don’t go our way, but we control our effort, our pride. And tomorrow? We’re playing for everything.”

Zambia faces Morocco at Nyayo National Stadium at 16:00 CAT in a must-win Group A clash.

Currently, Kenya leads the group with seven points, followed by Angola (4), while DR Congo and Morocco sit on three points each. Zambia, with zero points from two matches, must pull off a stunning turnaround to keep their quarter-final hopes alive.

Only the top two teams will advance and Kampamba’s men are determined to make sure they’re still in the fight.
