World Cup Qualifiers Postponement Sets Back Chipolopolo & FAZ – Micho
Chipolopolo coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has expressed disappointment following the postponement of the June round of the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, describing the development as a significant setback for his squad.
In an interview with the FAZ media, Micho revealed that his technical team had been working tirelessly in preparation, with three international friendly matches already lined up to fine-tune the team ahead of the scheduled June 6 away fixture against Mauritania.
According to the coach, the cancellation disrupts the momentum his players had been building and halts the progress made during their intensive preparations.
Despite the frustration caused by the delay, Micho remains focused on keeping the team ready for when competitive action resumes.
He emphasized that the coaching staff will continue to monitor the situation closely and adapt their plans accordingly to ensure the Chipolopolo remain in peak condition.
The Serbian tactician reiterated his commitment to the team’s long-term objectives, underscoring that while the postponement is disappointing, it will not derail their ultimate goal of securing qualification for the World Cup.
