The Chipolopolo camp is in good spirits as Zambia prepares to face hosts Morocco in a crucial AFCON Group A match this evening.
Despite playing against the home side before their enthusiastic supporters, the Chipolopolo Boys say they are calm, confident, and focused on their own game.
Spain-based defender David Hamansenya said the team is not worried about the atmosphere and is ready for the challenge.
“We are here to compete, no matter how many supporters Morocco will have. We are focused on our game and ready to face any challenge.” Said Hamansenya.
Wilson Chisala also shared the confidence in camp, adding that Zambia believes Morocco can be beaten.
“Morocco is a strong team, but they are overrated and beatable. On the pitch, it is all about execution, and we are confident we can handle them.”
Power Dynamos defender Dominic Chanda called for caution but said the team is well prepared.
“Morocco have quality, but we are fully prepared for the challenge ahead. Our focus is clear, and the players know what is at stake.”
Captain Fashion Sakala, speaking during a pre – match press conference yesterday, said he expects a tough and balanced contest.
“This is a fifty-fifty affair,” Sakala said.
“History shows both sides have won the AFCON once each, so neither has a clear upper hand. We just have to play our football and stay disciplined.” He said.
The last Group A match is scheduled to kick off at 21:00 CAT at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
