National Team Reduced to 26 Players Ahead Of Morocco Match

Chipolopolo coach Avram Grant has finalized his battle roster for Monday’s pivotal FIFA World Cup qualifier against Morocco, with significant forced changes due to injury.

Defender Frankie Musonda (Al-Khaldiya, Bahrain) and midfielder Kelvin Kampamba (Zesco United) have been medically ruled out of the fixture at Ndola’s Levy Mwanawasa Stadium. Both were initially selected but failed to pass the final fitness assessments.

The squad has now been trimmed to 26 players, with a final cut to 24 expected following the last stages of camp. Further departures from the original list include Abraham Siankombo, Saddam Phiri, Mwenya Chibwe, and Killian Kanguluma.

On a positive note for the technical team, all remaining summoned players have reported for duty, providing Grant with a full complement of options for the tactical preparation ahead of the Group E encounter.
