Harrison “Lewa” Chisala Pens New Deal with Nkana Until 2028

Nkana Football Club has secured the long-term future of its captain, Harrison “Lewa” Chisala, after confirming a contract extension that will keep the influential midfielder at the club until June 2028.

The renewal underscores Nkana’s focus on building stability and strong leadership within the squad as the Kitwe giants work to regain their competitive edge.

Chisala, who first joined the club from Mining Rangers in 2015, has developed into one of its most reliable and respected figures over the past decade.

Since being named club captain in 2024, Chisala has grown into a central leadership role, contributing both on the pitch with his consistent performances and off it through his guidance of teammates.

The 13-time Zambian champions view his continued presence as vital to the team’s identity and culture. In his statement following the signing, Chisala expressed deep gratitude and excitement about remaining part of what he described as a passionate “Kalampa family” driven by ambition and a desire to improve with every match.

He also highlighted the club’s dedicated fanbase, pledging that the team would repay their support with strong performances aimed at delivering success and glory. “I am really happy to have signed a new contract with Nkana Football Club,” Chisala said. “Extending my stay here means I continue to be part of a big Kalampa family which is hungry for success and wants to do better every game.”

Nkana Chief Executive Officer Mwansa Kapyanga welcomed the extension, praising Chisala’s quality leadership and ongoing importance to the project. “We are delighted to continue our journey together with Harrison, who continues to play an important part in our team,” Kapyanga stated.

The deal arrives at a pivotal moment as Nkana seeks to rebuild squad cohesion, stabilize performances in the Zambian Super League, and provide continuity for emerging talent under the guidance of an experienced captain.
