FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Unveil Wedson Nyirenda As New Head Coach
FCB Nyasa Big Bullets have unveiled Wedson Nyirenda as the club’s new head coach. The Zambian has signed a two-year contract with The People’s Team and brings a wealth of success from coaching stints across Southern Africa and experience at international level.
Nyirenda was unveiled during a club press conference in Blantyre on Wednesday afternoon. The 59-year-old has worked with clubs including ZESCO United, Zanaco, Ferroviário da Beira, Baroka FC and Lusaka Dynamos, guiding teams to league titles, domestic cup triumphs and CAF interclub competition campaigns.
He served as head coach of the Zambia national team during a coaching career that has spanned more than two decades. A CAF Pro Licence holder, he arrives with a proven track record of winning trophies, building competitive teams and developing players.
His achievements include back-to-back league titles with ZESCO United, a league championship with Zanaco, a historic league triumph with Ferroviário da Beira in Mozambique and domestic cup success with Lusaka Dynamos and South African side Baroka FC.
At international level, Nyirenda guided Zambia during the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign and oversaw a successful period for the country’s national teams.
Club President Konrad Buckle expressed confidence in the appointment, describing Nyirenda as
a coach capable of helping the club achieve its ambitions. “Wedson is a coach with a proven track record and a wealth of experience gained at some of the biggest clubs in the region.
