Zambia’s Women’s National Team, the Copper Queens, have been selected to compete in the groundbreaking FIFA Series 2026™.

The announcement, confirming hosts and groups for the expanded global event, places Zambia among 48 national teams—nearly a quarter of the world’s footballing nations—in a landmark initiative for international football development.

Scheduled for March and April 2026, the biennial tournament will offer the Copper Queens another prestigious platform to test themselves against elite global competition.

In a draw that highlights their rising status, Zambia has been placed in a highly competitive women’s group, set to be hosted by world number seven Brazil. The Copper Queens will face a formidable trio of opponents from across the globe: host nation Brazil, Canada, and the Korea Republic.

This challenging assignment, featuring top-tier teams from three different confederations, represents both a stern test and a significant opportunity. The group selection underscores the recognition Zambia has earned through its consistent ascent in women’s international football.

FIFA will announce the detailed match schedule for the tournament in due course.
