The Zambia Women’s national soccer team will begin preparations for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup on Sunday by entering a training camp.
The team, known as the Copper Queens, is expected to play at least one international friendly match during the FIFA window from February 13-22.
Coach Bruce Mwape will announce a local squad for the camp in the coming days.
The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) is also planning for an international friendly match to be played at home before the team departs for the World Cup, which will be co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand.
The Copper Queens are in Group C for the tournament and will face off against Spain, Japan, and Costa Rica.
