Kanyemba Announces 35-Player Squad for Uganda Clash

Zambia’s U17 Women’s National Team coach, Carol Kanyemba, has announced her 35-member provisional squad for the upcoming 2024 U-17 FIFA Women’s World Cup third-round, first-leg qualifier against Uganda.

Kanyemba has opted to maintain the core of the squad that secured a 5-1 aggregate victory over neighbors Tanzania in the second round. Additionally, she has introduced a new group of players who are eligible for the qualifiers.

The Copper Princesses are set to host Uganda at Nkoloma Stadium on May 12th, followed by the reverse fixture in Kitende a week later.

The winner over both legs will advance to face either Morocco or Algeria in the fourth and final round, with a spot at the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in the Dominican Republic at stake.
