Grant Formulates Response Strategy for Tanzania Following Draw Against DR Congo
Zambia’s coach, Avram Grant, quickly shifted his focus to the upcoming challenge against Tanzania following a 1-1 draw with DR Congo in the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday.
Despite taking the lead with Kings Kangwa’s opener, the Chipolopolo saw DR Congo’s Yoane Wissa equalize in Douala.
Grant, undeterred by the draw, is already strategizing for Zambia’s next Group F match, emphasizing the distinctiveness of each game.
Post-match, he told reporters, “Every game is different, and the next one will be different from this one. We will surely put in place another tactic to seek victory against Tanzania.”
The Israeli manager acknowledged the challenging nature of the match, admitting that DR Congo outperformed his team. Grant observed, “It was a difficult match for both teams, but DR Congo were much better than us.
We moved the ball well, but it was difficult for our attackers against big, strong defenders.”
Despite the tough encounter, Grant’s pragmatic approach sets sights on securing three points against Tanzania on Tuesday.
With a credible performance against one of the tournament favorites, Zambia, the 2012 AFCON winners, appear well-equipped to advance from the group stage.
