Govt Set to Evacuate Kalaba on Doctor’s Advice
The government has expressed its readiness to evacuate Rainford Kalaba, the AFCON-winning midfielder, for specialized treatment upon the recommendation of the University Teaching Hospital (UTH).
This assurance was given by Sports Minister Elvis Nkandu during his visit to the former Chipolopolo Captain at UTH, where Kalaba is currently hospitalized.
“Government is prepared to evacuate Maestro Rainford Kalaba for further treatment upon the UTH’s recommendation,” stated Minister Nkandu.
In an exclusive interview with Diamond Sports, Kalaba’s mother, Miriam Chibwe, expressed gratitude to Zambians for their prayers and urged them to continue praying. She also thanked UTH doctors for their medical services and expressed hope that the government would continue to provide necessary support for her son’s recovery.
Providing an update on the former TP Mazembe captain’s condition, UTH Public Relations Officer Nzeba Chanda reported that Kalaba’s health is steadily improving.
