Zambia faced a setback in the initial match of the 2024 Futsal AFCON final round qualifier against Mozambique, conceding a 3-2 defeat.

The home team, led by AGOSTINHO DOS SANTOS, secured an early lead in the first half, with TAIMO ORLANDO adding a second goal. Despite the challenging situation, Captain CHOTA CHILESHE managed to pull one back for Zambia as they entered the second half.

The momentum remained with the hosts in the second half, with ALFACE JUNIOR extending their lead to three goals. Towards the end of the game, MICHELO KAMPWE narrowed the gap by scoring a goal for Zambia.
