Speaking about the launch of OCEAUNZ, FIFA Secretary General Fatma Samoura said: “The Official Match Ball for the FIFA Women’s World Cup, OCEAUNZ, embodies themes of diversity, inclusivity, and unity, making it fitting for the tournament’s co-hosting by Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.
This special edition of the tournament will showcase the rich cultures of both host nations and take fans and teams #BeyondGreatness.
The ball’s technology allows for precise real-time data to be made available to Video Match Officials and contributes to FIFA’s semi-automated offside technology, aiding in optimal decision-making.”
