FAZ Women’s Super League Update: Buffaloes Soar, ZANACO Claims Top Spot

In a recent rescheduled match at Nationalist Stadium in Lusaka, Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club demonstrated their dominance with a resounding 3-0 victory against Nkwazi. Maylan Mulenga showcased her prowess with a goal in each half, complemented by Salome Phiri‘s contribution. The win propelled the Buffaloes to the top of the 2023/24 FAZ Women’s Super League, marking their fifth consecutive victory without conceding a single goal in five matches.

On the other hand, Red Arrows faced a setback at Sunset Stadium, surrendering their leading position after a 3-0 defeat by ZANACO Ladies FC. Marjory Luwaya, Chanda Katebe, and Captain Regina Chanda were instrumental in securing ZANACO’s decisive victory.

In additional fixtures, YASA Queens secured their second win of the season with Adnelly Sakala‘s second-half goal against Police Dove Queens. Elite Ladies FC clinched a 1-0 victory over National Assembly, courtesy of Xiomara Mapepa‘s sole goal. Independence Stadium witnessed a thrilling encounter between ZISD Women and Luyando Foundation Girls, ending in a 2-2 draw. Inonge Kaloustian, Mercy Vitumbiko, Grace Sakala, and Beauty Zulu all found the back of the net in a tightly contested match.
