Enzo Maresca’s Message to Patson Daka After His Missed Chance Against Leeds

Patson Daka missed a crucial opportunity to extend Leicester City’s lead to 2-0 against Leeds United, admitting he felt “responsible” for their 3-1 defeat in the top-of-the-table clash last Friday.

Despite his miss, manager Enzo Maresca praised Daka, calling him “fantastic” and offering full support. Daka, who had a one-on-one chance with Leeds’ goalkeeper Illan Meslier, skewed his shot wide. He did manage to score once, but his goal was disallowed for offside.

Maresca acknowledged Daka’s sense of responsibility for the result but has been lifting his spirits ahead of the upcoming Championship clash with QPR. Despite Jamie Vardy’s return to fitness, Daka appears to be the preferred choice to lead the line, having started five of the six Championship games since his return from the Africa Cup of Nations.

Maresca emphasized Daka’s overall performance and encouraged him to continue his excellent form. He praised Daka’s effort in pressing and sprinting despite the missed chance, highlighting his contributions throughout the season. Daka has scored seven goals and provided four assists in 12 Championship appearances, making him Leicester’s most prolific striker this season.
