DR Congo’s Winless Streak Persists in Opposition Watch

DR Congo, two-time African champions, faced a setback in a pre-AFCON warm-up match as they suffered a 2-1 home defeat to Burkina Faso.
The Stallions took the lead with Blati Toure scoring in the 36th minute, leaving the crowd at Kinshasa’s Banyis Stadium in silence. Mohammed Konate extended the West Africans’ lead to 2-0.

However, the Leopards regained control in the second half, and Chancel Mbemba pulled one back in the 57th minute. Despite their efforts, DR Congo couldn’t secure a comeback.

Just four days earlier, Congo was held to a draw by Angola in Abu Dhabi during another friendly match. Looking ahead, the Leopards are set to face the Chipolopolo Boys on January 17 in the opening Group F match.

Meanwhile, Morocco and Tanzania have already arrived in the Ivorian coastal city of San Pedro as they prepare for the upcoming AFCON tournament.
