Chipolopolo Off to Jeddah for Crucial Pre-AFCON Camp
Zambia’s National Football Team, Chipolopolo, has embarked on a crucial journey to Saudi Arabia for an intensive pre-AFCON (Africa Cup of Nations) international camp. The team, led by coach Avram Grant, is set to undergo rigorous preparations ahead of the AFCON tournament scheduled to commence on January 13 in Ivory Coast.
Chipolopolo departed for Saudi Arabia aboard Emirates Airlines, with Jeddah being their destination for the pre-tournament camp. The camp will play a pivotal role in fine-tuning strategies, enhancing teamwork, and ensuring the players are in optimal condition for the continental championship.
During their stay in Jeddah, Zambia is scheduled to engage in two international friendly matches, providing valuable match practice and an opportunity to assess the team’s readiness for the AFCON challenges. The friendly fixtures will serve as a key component of the team’s preparations.
Grouped in Group F for the AFCON tournament, Zambia faces a challenging path with opponents including Morocco, Tanzania, and Congo DR. The team’s inaugural match is set to take place on January 17 against Congo, marking the beginning of their quest for success in Ivory Coast.
