Lubambo Musonda, the captain of the Zambia national football team, has highlighted the significance of the upcoming training camp in Saudi Arabia as a crucial step in fine-tuning preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals in Ivory Coast in January.
Speaking from Lusaka, Musonda stressed the team’s commitment to improvement, stating, “As a team, we always want to improve, and we will take this camp as seriously as possible to learn, get better for the AFCON, and learn to coordinate with each other.”
The captain expressed satisfaction with the intensity and dedication observed during training, stating, “The training is going on well, everyone is putting in enough effort to play at AFCON.”
Musonda also conveyed the team’s eagerness for the arrival of the remaining players, who faced delays due to club commitments. Despite the challenges, the squad remains focused on the task at hand.
Set to lead the Chipolopolo Boys at the AFCON for the first time, Musonda exuded confidence in the team’s potential, saying, “I am confident everyone is working hard and putting in the work.”
