Orlando Pride striker Barbra Banda has made it clear that her immediate focus is on the upcoming match against KC Current, despite being named in the final squad for the Zambian national team ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics.
In a recent interview, Banda stressed the significance of the game, saying, “First, before the national team, this is a very important game for us as a team. I think it will be blood and blood; it will be a very tough game. So, our aim is to go there and win; that’s the most important thing we are preparing for. It’s a very big game for us, and we are hoping we get good results out of it.”
The match between KC Current and Orlando Pride is highly anticipated, with both teams currently tied at 35 points in the National Women’s Soccer League. Banda has been exceptional in her debut season, scoring 11 goals in 11 games and competing closely with Malawian player Temwa Chawinga for the golden boot.
Banda’s remarkable performances have seen her break several records, including becoming the first player to score ten goals in her debut season. She also holds the record for scoring a brace and assisting twice in a single match.
Despite her selection for the Olympics, Banda remains dedicated to helping her team secure a win against KC Current. Her outstanding form and determination are expected to be pivotal in what promises to be a fiercely contested match.
