Bafana Bafana frustrate Ivory Coast in Abidjan friendly

South Africa delivered an impressive performance to secure a 1-1 draw against the host team, Ivory Coast, in a closely contested international friendly held at the Stade Felix Houphouet-Boigny in Abidjan on Tuesday evening.
In a match characterized by the intensity and pace typically seen in competitive fixtures, Bafana Bafana managed to seize an early lead, thanks to Themba Zwane. However, despite the Elephants dominating possession and consistently applying pressure throughout the 90 minutes, they managed to equalize through Sebastien Haller in the middle of the second half.
Ivory Coast initially controlled the game’s early stages, but South Africa quickly found their attacking rhythm. They struck first in the eighth minute, showcasing a beautiful combination between Teboho Mokoena and Themba Zwane, both midfielders for Mamelodi Sundowns. This fluid teamwork culminated in Zwane unleashing a stunning shot into the top corner, giving South Africa a 1-0 lead.
