In another match, ZESCO United displayed dominance by thrashing Barotse Crocs, representatives from North Western Province, with a convincing 4-0 win. Goals from John Chingandu, David Simukonda, Chanda Mukuka, and Pascal Phiri secured the comfortable victory for ZESCO United, who will now face Nchanga Rangers in the quarterfinals.
The quarterfinal matches are scheduled to take place on the weekend of April 13/14 on the Copperbelt, with the semifinals set for the weekend of April 27/28 in Lusaka. The final will be held on the Copperbelt on May 7.
This year’s ABSA Cup winner will receive K800,000, an increase from last year’s prize of K700,000, with K350,000 reserved for the runner-up. Additionally, the Absa Life Player of the Tournament, Top Scorer, and Golden Glove winners will each receive K25,000, while the ZAMTEL Man of the Match from the quarterfinals to the final will pocket K15,000.
